***** Motorcycle Accident Reconstruction and Litigation will once again be updated. The new, Fifth Edition should be available by the end of the year.*****

Riding a motorcycle has been estimated to be five times as complex as driving an automobile, and reconstructing an accident can be equally more difficult. This is the newest, fourth edition that includes insights from its two newest contributors, Jack Debes, Ph.D. and Eric Shapiro, A.S.E. related to the biomechanics of a motorcycle accident as well as new ways of looking at motorcycle steering dynamics. Part I was written by a professional engineer who has reconstructed nearly 300 motorcycle accidents and safely ridden motorcycles for more than thirty-five years. Part 2 includes legal analysis by Paul Hill, Esq. Lastly, this edition includes accident cause factors and identification of countermeasures, commonly known as "The Hurt Report," on CD-ROM. This important government study is only now being revisited, but to date this is the de facto study related to motorcycle accidents.

Motorcycle Accident Reconstruction and Litigation

by Kenneth S. Obenski, P.E., Paul F. Hill, Jack C. Debes, Ph.D. and Eric Shapiro

This book is not an advanced engineering text. Rather, it is a practical presentation with traffic accident reconstruction principles presented in a simple, understandable manner so that the reader will easily retain these important concepts. The engineering principles involved are introduced at the elementary level, and in many cases equations used in freshman physics are derived. The authors believe that the derivations are presented in the simplest manner possible so that the reader will retain this material.
